Nahvalur Nautilus

The Nahvalur Eclipse cobalt/black is absolutely gorgeous! Absolutely stunningly cool aesthetic. Love the knock-deployed nib, and it writes very smoothly. An instant classic!

It took time and multiple emails with Nahvalur to find out why the new nib unit they sent did not fit my new Nautilus Cape May Diamond, a special edition from Goldspot Pens. The pen has an Ebonite feed, which is a different size from the usual plastic feed, meaning the new nib must be removed from the new unit and placed in the pen’s original feed and unit in order to fit. Once this was explained to me by Nahvalur customer service, I was able to use the new nib.

Although my pen didn’t have as much gold as the website pics, this made it look like mossy agate with sparkles AND I got number 420 🌿🙌🏽

The Chelonia ebonite is simply beautiful. The workmanship is exquisite. The feel in hand is the equal of my all time favorite Pilot 823s. The steel nib is smooth and writes most excellently. These pens are genuine treasures.

This is a striking pen, with an unusual color combination of purple and blue. My original stub nib was not what I expected, and was very quickly replaced by Nahvalur. It writes beautifully and fits perfectly in my hand, despite it’s relatively large size and my small hands. A winner.

No matter what color you choose, the Nautilus in the previous style is perfectly balanced, smooth as butter to write with, doesn't leak at all and feels like an extension of your hand. The newly redesigned Nautilus is lighter, feels like plastic instead of ebonite, leaks and doesn't feel as balanced. If you have a choice, get the old style while you still can!

I bought the Dpring fountain Pen at the Portland Pen Show in July. Loved the pen as it was with the broad. But wanted the fine nib. It feels like a dream when writing.

Bought this pen on a whim and I don’t regret for a moment.

I’ve been wanting to try the horizon line and I’ve not been disappointed at all. The writing experience is smooth even on a fine tip. The color and design of this pen shows much attention to detail Nahvalur puts into their pens. This is a must have pen for anyone and everyone.

I’m really enjoying my experience with this pen! This is my first stub nib and it behaves really well with sailor Shikiori ink. Smooth and plenty of sweet spot. I love the unique engravings that make it stand out from standard Jowo and Bock nibs that I have a dozen of. It compliments the detail in the cap ring.

The pen body is made from very consistent ebonite. There are no obvious inclusions, voids, or off-black patches. It’s nicely polished too.

The filling mechanism works as well as other pistons I’ve used and the portholes are a nice touch for viewing ink levels. I’m not sure how much ink it holds, but it seems comparable to a Schmidt converter or a bit more.

All in all, this pen is a great value considering its craftsmanship, materials, novelty, and function vs cost. I got this at a great discount with the summer savings deal, but just ordered another at full price as a gift to a dear friend because of my impressions with this one.

I wanted to get a pen, but it seemed that all the Nahvalur stocking stores only had a broad nib, and I like fine nibs. I decided to buy the pen and obtain a fine nib from the company. It was my first experience with changing nibs and it was very easy. The pen writes very, very smoothly. If you like feedback, however, this nib has none. It just glides across the page.
